You're in this environment with absolutely no control over the lighting. All of sudden all the light completely shuts off, you have no idea where your subject is. It's hard to see when you're looking through the viewfinder and you can't find anything, but there's this spotlight that shines from behind and creates this beautiful highlight behind the subject and there was just enough light bouncing off to light up just a tiny bit of his face where I'm able to see these eyes and this nose ring and the chain. I just love that it's something I created. It wasn't just a moment that I was capturing. It was art that I was creating.
