Lance Webber

Having played in bands a majority of my life, I cut my teeth playing in the early 80's Los Angeles area punk scene at the youthful age of 14. About 4 years ago while still living in LA, I decided to jump behind the the camera and start memorializing the music scene. Some of my favorite groups to shoot over the last few years have been IDLES, SWANS, Protomartyr, Gilla Band, METZ, Melt-Banana, Chat Pile, Show Me the Body, Pig City, Bastard Noise, Full of Hell, and more. Whether isolated between the stage and the sturdy metal barricade, or squeezed between a smashed, sweaty crowd with stage divers flying overhead, I clench my camera for dear life and capture whatever musical moments make me happy and inspire me. That visceral feeling that comes over me when I capture that certain lighting, expression or interaction is something that is all consuming and always leaves me nervously wanting more. I recently relocated to Phoenix, AZ, and have continued my photography journey here.
